Parallels Virtuozzo Containers allows resources to be redefined in real-time. This allows Net24 VPS plans to be upgraded without requiring a re-boot of the VPS.

All sites are hosted from our Data Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The maximum CPU power the Virtual Private Server can get. The total CPU power equals 100% * Number Of CPUs.

This number affects how often Virtuozzo containers scheduler will allow virtual private server processes to run. However, if there are free CPU cycles (for example all other VPSs are inactive) then scheduler will allow virtual private server processes to use them. If we have two virtual private servers one with CPU units set to 500 and another with 1000 than the second one will receive two times more CPU cycles than the first one if both are busy.

Number of total disk inodes. This is a total number of files and directories which can be created.

Many server applications (like Apache Web server, FTP and mail servers) spawn a process to handle each client, this limit defines how many clients the application will be able to handle in parallel.

This parameter defines the number of TCP connections, and therefore the number of clients the server application can handle in parallel.

Local (UNIX-domain) sockets are used for communications inside the system. Multi-tier applications (for example, a Web application with a database server as a back-end) may need one or multiple local sockets to serve each client. Straightforward applications (for example, most mail servers) do not use local sockets. UDP sockets are used for Domain Name Service (DNS) queries, but the number of such sockets opened simultaneously is low. UDP and other sockets may also be used in some very special applications (SNMP agents and others).

VPS' are billed on a monthly basis and can be paid for by cheque, credit card or bank payment.

Changes to the OS are handled by provisioning a new VPS with your desired OS or distribution and opening a 14 day window to allow migration of data to the new VPS. After 14 days, the old VPS is cancelled.

A CD or DVD can be mounted as a drive to allow installation of applications or the transfer of data to the VPS.

Additional IP address may be necessary for your VPS if you need to run multiple SSL sites, FTP servers, or applications which required dedicated IP addressing. IP addresses are subject to our allocation policy; we may ask you to justify your request before allocation.
