Data Redundancy

Net24 implements sophisticated data redundancy technologies to ensure your data remains safe and always available.

Data is securely transported from your computer to the Online Backup Server. Once we receive your data it is checked to ensure that the data has not changed during the transfer process.

Our backup servers use RAID hardware to protect against hard disk failures. To further protect your data from major disasters, we utilise D2D2T (Disk-to-Disk-to-Tape) backup technology to store all data offsite at a Data Security Services vault. Each day, all changes that occur on the backup servers are securely transported and stored at these vaults.

Your data is backed up to Net24's Christchurch based Data Centre.

Net24's Data Centre features:

  • On-site diesel-powered generators and UPS systems ensure that your OBS servers are running even if mains power has been knocked out.
  • Multiple POEs (point of entry) for fibre, electricity and generator inputs with N+1 redundancy, ensure no single point of failure.
  • Multiple upstream bandwidth providers
  • Multi-Camera security Surveillance system
  • VESDA early warning fire detection
  • 19" Seismically braced racks
  • Metered and monitored PDU (Power Distribution Units)
